Watching Out

As cities expand worldwide, it becomes harder for wildlife to find shelter. If you see an animal outside its natural habitat, call for help. The firefighters initially thought the trapped animals were small because, though the grate was not deep, they could not escape. Hearing the cries, they realized the animals were babies. Once the babies were out of the sewer, they were taken to the Animal Clinic in Woodland Park. When people see a lone baby animal, they often assume it is in danger; the clinic’s staff raises young foxes until they are strong enough to return to the wild.
