The Bedlington Terrier, nicknamed “Rothbury’s Lamb,” has a distinct lamb-like profile. Originally a vermin hunter, it later raced and became a popular show dog. Known for strong swimming, it has a generally gentle temperament.

Despite its amiable nature, breeders once called it “fit to kill another dog of its weight class.” Closely related to the Whippet, it hails from Northumberland and often lives around 13.5 years.
