The Saluki is among the oldest breeds, descended from sighthounds that hunt by sight rather than scent. They were used in the Fertile Crescent in antiquity, often with nomadic tribes.

Famed hunters, modern Salukis can reach 43 mph. They are quiet, reserved, and independent, living up to 14 years. While not as rugged as some hunting breeds, they love a good run. Keep them engaged with toys from pet stores or big-box retailers to satisfy their play drive.
