7. Carolina Dog

The Carolina Dog or American Dingo likely arrived with early migrants and persisted in the Southeast wild for centuries. Some free ranging groups remain. Wary of new people they become faithful pack members once trust forms. Medium build upright ears and a fish hook tail reflect their primitive heritage. Strong social structure and problem solving instincts mark the breed. With structured socialization they become affectionate active companions needing ample exercise and mental tasks.
