3. Komondor

The Komondor or Hungarian sheepdog is memorable for its massive frame and dense corded coat. Though weights can exceed one hundred pounds they can move with speed. Bred to guard flocks they are powerful and vigilant. The coat forms heavy cords that shield against weather and predators. With family they are gentle and tolerant. Grooming focuses on keeping cords clean and dry. Intelligent yet independent they need clear consistent guidance from a confident handler.
