11. Azawakh

The Azawakh sometimes grouped with other desert sighthounds hails from the Sahel. Long limbs and a lean frame support high speed over hot terrain. In the United States it remains scarce. Typically reserved with family yet courteous toward strangers it presents a solemn look. Colors include fawn sand brindle and white. Deep bonds may foster gentle protectiveness. They benefit from experienced owners using patient low pressure training and steady exercise.
