17. Cure a cold

No single ingredient cures the common cold, yet apple cider vinegar can be part of a soothing regimen. Diluted ACV in warm water with honey may coat a scratchy throat and encourage fluid intake. Its mildly acidic environment may be less inviting to certain microbes on surfaces of the mouth and throat. Combine with rest, hydration, hand hygiene, and nutrient dense soups. Seek medical care for high fever, breathing difficulty, or persistent symptoms.
